Reviving a Parking Garage in Portland's Lloyd District
Kaiser Parking Garage
This project replaced the upper deck of the 162,000 SF parking garage at the Kaiser Permanente Building in the Lloyd District. The existing garage, built in the 1970s, was structurally deficient and had reached the end of its useful life. Scope of work included demolition and replacement of the old second level of the garage and bringing the other two floors up to current structural codes. The new garage provides 650 parking stalls, 54 “active spaces” as required by city zoning regulations, and bicycle parking. Kaiser also added their branding to the garage by using colorful applied graphics throughout.
