Extensive 3D Modeling Helps Coordinate Systems and Plan for Future Expansion
PDX‑1
The 112,000 SF structure for this data center was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. Hoffman completed the tilt-up structure as well as site infrastructure, underground rough-in, and electrical and distribution systems underground. Extensive 3D modeling was used to coordinate all systems and plan for future expansion.
From the start of the project, we worked closely with the owner and the design team to create a highly energy-efficient design that included the use of fan walls and enclosed hot aisles, achieving a PUE of less than 1.2. The result is a data center that encompasses built-in savings and long-term value. We also worked closely with the local jurisdiction to expedite a smooth and efficient permitting process.
