The Largest Renovation Project in WSU's History, Tucked Into the Heart of Campus
Compton Union Building
Encompassing 240,000 SF, the complex upgrade of Washington State University’s Compton Union Building is the largest renovation project in WSU history. Since opening in 2008, the CUB has provided a vibrant new center for campus life, with amenities including wireless internet access, increased meeting space, an upgraded and relocated bookstore, and a multitude of new food and service vendors. Work also included a new auditorium packed with advanced technological features, a new ballroom and integration with the campus library that provides 24-hour access. Responding to the project’s heart-of-campus location, Hoffman’s approach placed intense focus on safety and logistics planning.
