A New Academic Center Facilitates Student Collaboration and Showcases Student Achievements
John E. Jaqua Academic Center
The University of Oregon Jaqua Center is a new campus landmark, featuring study facilities for student athletes, classrooms, common areas, and a cafe all built to an uncommonly high level of quality. The unique design, a gleaming cube floating serenely on a surrounding reflecting pond, won an AIA/Portland honor Award.
The 40,000-SF Jaqua Center features a 114-seat auditorium, 35 tutor rooms with state-of-the-art technology, 25 faculty/advising offices, conference rooms, flexible classrooms, and a computer lab with 54 computers.
