Operating 24/7, TriMet’s Center Street Garage coordinates more than 600 buses, 52 train sets, and 330,000 rides per day spread over 534 square miles. Working closely with an integrated project team, Hoffman delivered a complete renovation to the facility, including a training center, Emergency Operations Center, data center, and support space. Our background in technology and data center construction helped ensure quality installation of the complex electronic systems. For example, the Operations Command Center features a command room with a 31-foot long video wall displaying the full rail system with real time train locations and track controls. An advanced touch screen radio system allows communication with all or selected groups of operators, security staff, and City police and fire. There are over 1,100 CCTV cameras in the system which can be viewed on shared displays visible to everyone in the center or at individual consoles. Hoffman received TriMet’s “DBE Champion of the Year” award for achieving 36% DBE firm participation on the project.
