Legacy Health Mt. Hood Emergency Department Expansion hero image

Keeping a Busy ER Open and Safe throughout Construction

Legacy Health Mt. Hood Emergency Department Expansion

We constructed this multi-phase expansion at the second busiest emergency department in the state. Our comprehensive preconstruction and creative logistics planning allowed the continued operation of the emergency department throughout construction.

This three-phase project includes a 24,000 SF expansion to the emergency department, built at the existing department’s main entrance. This project initially addressed several site issues to clear the footprint for the emergency department addition, including: extensive utility work, construction of a storm water detention system, decommissioning of 23 dry wells serving the hospital campus, relocation of the main hospital electrical and domestic water services, and construction of a new heliport and parking spaces.
