A New Campus Provides Quality Training for Oregon’s Public Safety Professionals
Oregon Public Safety Academy
Hoffman worked closely with State officials and public safety professionals to transform a sprawling 210-acre site into a state-of-the-art training campus featuring array of building types and specialized elements such as mock-ups of city streets for police and “burn buildings” for firefighters.
With nine new buildings on a 210-acre site, the new Oregon Public Safety Academy provides state-of-the-art training facilities for Oregon’s police, corrections, parole, probation officers, and 911 dispatchers, as well as advanced training for law enforcement professionals and fire fighters. The buildings comprise a full range of construction types, including cast-in-place, tilt-up, steel frame and core plank. Over 300,000 SF includes classrooms, skills training buildings, fitness areas, and a dormitory, as well as warehouse, dining, and administrative buildings. Hands-on training is provided at the indoor and outdoor firing ranges and a “city streets” scenario venue. There is also a specialized Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) and a metal burn building.’
