Wetland protection for migratory waterfowl added to the challenge of this extensive renovation project. Hoffman upgraded the wastewater facility on schedule into an advanced primary plant that meets the sensitive environmental requirements of California. Work involved building six structures, adding a new digester, expanding two existing buildings, upgrading all operating systems, installing new pumps, pipes, instrumentation, and a plant operations computer system, and making numerous tie-ins with existing systems without disrupting ongoing operations.
