A Multi‑Faceted Education Project on the Rugged Oregon Coast
Southeast Hills Campus
In the hills east of Seaside, Oregon, Hoffman builds new schools located safely above the Tsunami zone. Work is concentrated during the summer months to beat the harsh Oregon Coast winter weather.
Hoffman is renovating and expanding an existing elementary school and building a new combined middle and high school, all located above the Tsunami zone in the southeast hills of Seaside. Seaside High School is designed as a tsunami evacuation shelter for the City and surrounding area. The project required logging 80 acres that produced a parking lot full of more than five stories of bark chips. The team is building during the summer months to work around two salmon streams on the site and to beat the inevitable 75 inches of rain and 50 mile-per-hour winds of winter.
