New Library Balances Community Commitments with Schedule and Budget Demands
Tigard Library
The Tigard Library expresses community values, learning, and discovery. Incorporating energy-efficient lighting systems, the 47,751 SF building qualifies under the Oregon Business Energy Tax Credit program, enabling the city to recoup 35% of eligible project costs. Hoffman’s construction approach protected an adjacent creek, wetlands, and other environmentally sensitive areas around the site. During preconstruction, we worked closely with the owner and architects to develop a project perfectly suited to budget, schedule, quality, and community requirements. Adjacent to the library lobby is a separate community meeting room, equipped to seat 160 people in different configurations.
