Suite‑Style Living to Encourage Community on Campus
Living and Learning Community
Before construction got under way for this campus residential development, the project team implemented $3.7 million in value engineering savings. A key VE application was a standardized structural design layout that enhanced repetitive construction. Located in the heart of campus, the wood-framed structures introduce “suite” style living, enhancing the sense of community within each building. This two-phase project provides 202,000 SF and 600 beds in six four-story buildings and two five-story buildings. In addition, the latter two structures include eight classrooms and a coffee bar.
