Proactive Planning and Collaborative Preconstruction Deliver Advanced Surgical Facilities in the Heart of an Occupied Campus

Surgery Pavilion

Building in the midst of a busy medical campus, adjacent to health care services, emergencies, deliveries, and patients and visitors, made this project challenging. All of the work occurred next to an eight-story medical facility with heavy traffic passing on two sides.

Proactive planning and tight coordination kept construction on track for a three-story, 175,000 SF concrete structure without impacting campus access or services. Teamwork that was established during preconstruction helped generate $2.5 million in value engineering savings. The new facility offers an array of advanced surgical services as well as three levels of underground parking with 300 spaces.
