In collaboration with Legacy Health, Adventist Health, Kaiser Permanente, and OHSU, Hoffman delivered this challenging 90,000 SF behavioral health center renovation while meeting aggressive schedule and budget goals. The one-of-a-kind behavioral health center is the first Psychiatric Emergency Services in the state of Oregon, providing 24-hour mental healthcare and recovery for those in crisis. The facility combines emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services, and has 80 adult beds, 22 adolescent beds, and calming and therapy rooms available for each. The team also built a small addition to the main entry for outdoor activity area improvements and made some parking lot improvements. Work occurred on four floors of the nine-story building without any disruption to health care operations and patient care. Hoffman ran an integrated project team with the owner and architect, utilizing Lean construction practices and clear communication to meet a fast-track schedule. The center is a national model for compassionate mental healthcare.
